Your Special Event could be in the Vintage Ballroom of the Historic Majestic Opera House!!
You are invited to consider a newly available ballroom and special events facility in the Historic Majestic Opera House built in 1903, now Dancetime on 4th centrally located in downtown Loveland, 319 E 4th Street. The Odd Fellows, a benevolent organization, has owned this historic building since 1919. They have preserved the historic interior.
In 1903 the performers arrived by train and stayed in the building through the week they were performing. Therefore, there is a fully functional kitchen adjacent to the large dining room, beautiful common room with arched windows facing 4th street, a set of four sleeping spaces, and a green room. The costume closet is located between the green room and the ballroom. The Odd Fellows are in the process of restoring each room to its former glory.
Because the Odd Fellows are a non-profit organization, we ask for a donation to help the cause along. The Odd Fellows purpose is to help those in the community in need. Because they support fund raising for charity there can be consideration for events that raise funds for charity, or tie into that cause. We encourage you to be creative, thinking outside the box! Any proposal can be considered.
The décor is simple "art deco" or 1920-30 era, with potential for creative decorating for special occasions. The most amazing factor is the ballroom floor, which is danceable with any kind of shoes! The acoustics are also outstanding; very little amplification is needed for beautiful sound!
The dining room, common room and green room can each accommodate about 50 people for meetings, lessons, games, etc. The ballroom and balcony can accommodate about 170 people. Total number about 250. Weddings, receptions, productions, corporate functions, family reunions and parties, dinner/luncheon meetings, and any gathering of folks to celebrate, learn or plan. The entire space can be used, or just a room or two. The potential is endless!
Dance! LLC is managing the use of the space for the Odd Fellows. Our goal is to create a community, intergenerational venue for dancing and general playing together. We support creativity!
There are stairs up to the spaces and no elevator, but there is a chair lift. There are no handicap facilities as yet. Children must be closely supervised. This is a historical building, so it does have some historic challenges such as limited plumbing and electricity.
Alcohol cannot be served, as the insurance will not cover. There are more than 10 restaurants within 2 blocks that serve alcohol. If alcohol is important to your event you might want to consider arranging with both a restaurant and Dancetime.
Let's put our heads together, create a great idea for a memorable event and help others while we are at it! We ask that you try to schedule as far in advance as possible. Anything on the schedule can be re-arranged given enough notice.
